While the media puts heavy focus on equal pay, workplace advancement and getting a seat at the table — all things which are needed — there is a whole subculture of women who actually want something more, their lives back. I dare to say if you ask a woman which she would prefer, a raise or an extra 30 minutes of “me time” each day, she would choose the solitude. A promotion or a “calm, more peaceful existence,” she would choose the latter

Airplane food  isn’t known for tempting tastebuds, but one restaurant is trying to make you crave the stuff in real life. At “Fly Kouzina,”  an airplane-themed eatery in Kolkata, India (formerly known as Calcutta), the motto is: “First class services without actually getting 35,000 feet off the ground.”  Though the food isn’t necessarily straight off a 747, Fly Kouzina makes you feel like you’re sitting in one, what with items like  “jet-fuel” drinks and “high-altitude” courses  on the menu.

Hopping Through Time With Ursula K. Le Guin

In a 1966 novel, Ursula K. Le Guin wrote about a little device — about the size of a lunchbox — that allows its owner to communicate across land masses, even planets, in a flash. Though the ansible isn’t currently a reality, we’re constantly working to improve the speed with which we can deliver electronic information to far-flung readers.  That Le Guin could even conceive of such a technology decades ago speaks to the powers of her imagination

Chicharito se va a Alemania

31Ago
