Stephen Colbert has poked fun at President-elect Donald Trump’s reported friendship with Russian leader Vladimir Putin . The “ Late Show ” host conducted a spoof interview with Trump Monday, in which the Republican “revealed” what the Russian president had sent him as an election victory gift ― a beautiful, yuuuge, tremendous, enormous wooden horse. “ Have you thought about looking inside the horse to see if there is anything in it before you open the gates and bring it into America?” Colbert asked Trump ― in reference to the ancient tale of how Greeks concealed themselves in a wooden horse in order to enter the city of Troy

Keeping track of Donald Trump’s tweeting habits must be a full-time job. So “ The Daily Show ” imagined what life would be like for the person in charge of keeping the GOP nominee’s social media outbursts under control in a spoof “exclusive.” Fictitious Trump campaign social media manager Doug Bailey says in the parody clip that his job is to “optimize Mr. Trump’s online communications.” But in reality, he just spends most of his time hiding the brash businessman’s cell phones and iPads to limit his posting of demeaning messages that may affect the vote.
For the past eighteen months, political pundits have been struggling to get a fix on the personality of Donald Trump, without much success. Their problem is that they live in the world of politics, where power and influence are the ultimate commodity.
You don’t have to be an American to see the absurdities in the U.S. presidential election . Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald and Michael “Wippa” Wipfli ― a.k.a. Fitzy and Wippa of Australia’s NOVA FM radio ― have cooked up a new parody that roasts Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump . Set to the tune of the 1984 Wham! hit “ Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go ,” the song’s chorus includes the line: “Donald Trump, you have to go go ― you’re a bigot, racist and homophobe.” “A lot of people have been watching Trump’s presidential bid going ‘ nah, nah, this won’t happen ,’” Fitzgerald told News.com.au. “But as the election got closer we just felt we had to do something and get involved.” Check it out above
“ Saturday Night Live ” has given Donald Trump another thing to whine about. The GOP nominee blasted Alec Baldwin’s portrayal of him on the show last weekend. So who knows how he’ll react to this weekend’s hilarious spoof segment, which parodied the third and final presidential debate. With Tom Hanks playing the part of moderator Chris Wallace of Fox News, the cast wasted no time in ridiculing the brash businessman’s performance.
Donald Trump’s sniffles just won’t go away. Sniffles punctuated the GOP nominee’s performance in the first presidential debate , and he succumbed to them once again during Sunday night’s battle with Democratic rival Hillary Clinton . Not long after the debate started, the #sniffles hashtag began trending worldwide on Twitter.
Unlike other moderators, “Late Night” host Seth Meyers retained control of the candidates during his spoof vice-presidential debate on Thursday. While squabbling and talking over each other characterized Tuesday’s actual debate between Indiana Gov. Mike Pence (R) and Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Meyers managed to keep the duo in check during his hilarious parody.
I wish I could speak with ironclad certainty about the right of fiction writers to portray anyone, from any culture, in any way we wish. In her opening address at the Brisbane Writers Festival, Lionel Shriver, a celebrated U.S. author, adamantly took that stance.
Reader Left Out writes, I was wondering if you have some advice about being excluded from a group that used to invite you to their parties (or in general about exclusion situations). We live in a neighborhood where several families (about 7-9) get together and have parties (most of our kids are around the same age too and go to the local school together). I’ve kinda figured out that several of them get together more frequently and are more close knit which is ok.

The U.S. took an early lead in the Olympic medal count, while China and Italy vied for the top spot in the establishment lane. Donald Trump gave a major “policy speech,” and we realized he reads off a teleprompter with the same cadence we use to order takeout from people who don’t speak English well.

Recently, The WorldPost published an interview with “Sapiens” author Yuval Harari in which he envisioned a future where “organisms become algorithms” as computer and biological sciences converge. In a response, Deepak Chopra writes this week that being cannot be reduced to an algorithm, nor can the mind be reduced to the wiring of the brain which artificial intelligence strives to mimic. “Of all the weird contradictions that plague modern life,” Chopra says, “the strangest is the collapse of philosophy with the triumph of science.
Team Coco just won the big game.
Real estate mogul Donald Trump drew boos from the audience at the ABC News Republican presidential debate when he told Jeb Bush to quiet down during a heated exchange on the issue of eminent domain. Trump defended eminent domain, calling the expropriation of private property for public use an “absolute necessity” for the government to build schools, roads and bridges
It is time to break out one of our two family rules again – it is impossible to compete with unintentional self-parody. How fraudulent is finance even now? The Wall Street Journal reports that “big money managers” want to bring back “liar’s loans.” The WSJ article exemplifies the lies that the industry and the media told about liar’s loans before and after 2008

If you’re protecting important personal accounts with nothing more than a few security questions, it may be time for an upgrade. A study from Google recently compared the use of security questions to other account recovery methods like SMS (short text messages) and an alternative email address. It found that true or made-up responses to questions like, “What was your mother’s maiden name?” or specific answers to prompts such as “Favorite Superhero,” “First Car” or “Childhood Phone Number,” weren’t a reliable way to recover or protect an account.
The Great Recession delivered a body blow to our country’s financial equilibrium, and only after years of painfully slow recovery have housing prices begun to stabilize and the unemployment rate steadily fallen. But while the economic crisis has abated, it remains a devastating morass for many, especially young adults, ethnic and racial minorities, and lower income families.
The world is aflame with contention right now. There are stories of campus activism, racism, and free speech. There is tension between the Republican and Democratic parties, and tension within the Republican and Democratic parties, as candidates vie for the presidency
We all know what Thanksgiving entails–turkey, pies, family, friends, acceptable overeating, and leading up to and directly after the event, a whole lot of sleeping. It’s a fantastic holiday, and unlike Christmas or the various birthday parties you attend throughout the year, you can typically get through it without spending an egregious amount of money

The publishing industry, like many other industries, is filled with white saviors. Basically, we knew this already, but I was sadly reminded of it when I woke up this morning and saw that Maggie Stiefvater wrote something about why she accepted an invitation to sit on a panel about the “other.” I’m honestly so appalled that I’m not even sure what to say. First of all, the fact that she mentioned something about “unpopular” races is just…I can’t.

American Ultra posits a mildly amusing premise — what if a stoned-out slacker found out he was Jason Bourne? — and turns it into ninety or so minutes of filmmaking that are probably a lot more engaging than they have any right to be. Directed by Project X ‘s Nima Nourizadeh and starring Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart (in a post- Adventureland reunion), it’s a little too slapdash narratively and stylistically to be truly revolutionary, but it does offer its share of chuckles, and benefits both from the talented cast and a sprightly script by Max Landis ( Chronicle ).

Republicans have done everything they can to win the Jewish vote, never missing an opportunity to link Democrats and any foreign policy opponent to the Nazis and the Holocaust. They just don’t get how offensive such remarks are to Jewish voters, continuing to drive them toward Democrats. The latest came from former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who recently said President Obama “will take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven,” in an interview with Breitbart News, according to Igor Bobic with the Huffington Post
By: Iain Patton I believe growing up in a large family made me conscious of waste and consumption. Naturally, there were times when we experienced an element of frugality due to our large and demanding household. During these times a degree of creativity was exercised to make ends meet.

“Saturday Night Live” received heaps of praise this weekend over a skit that parodied the fear of drawing the Prophet Muhammad. Bobby Moynihan’s character picks up a card that reads “The Prophet Muhammad” and refuses to draw it.
