This second article in my series about the absurdly productive trans-national art star Jan Fabre (the first is here ) has very little to do directly with him or his work. Rather, it is about the State Hermitage Museum, one of the wonders of the world. We take a look at it because it is on this field which Fabre agreed to stake a claim.

Alyssa’s family says since Nick’s death, she’s been spiraling out of control. NEW ORLEANS ― Twenty-five years ago, the melting pot of culture and tradition that makes up the Crescent City was overshadowed by a cloud of evil. Photographer: Barbara Nitke I believe it’s safe to say that all married women have fantasized, at least once, about having sex with another partner during their healthy, happy, and loving marriage. Her fantasy may be a secret affair with a celebrity, someone at the office, or perhaps just a sexy and willing figment of her imagination. Most women never act on these (normal, healthy) impulses, but some couples do — in a totally consensual way
Fascinating live chat yesterday with Martin Köppelmann, an Ethereum development expert and founder of the Gnosis prediction market, which is built atop Ethereum. Now that it appears, thankfully, that former NBA player and Kardashian in-law, Lamar Odom, is going to be okay, we are free to banter about the preposterous serendipity of being found unconscious in, of all places, a licensed whorehouse tucked away on the remote and barren landscape of the Mojave Desert. In addition to emitting a genuine sigh of relief at Odom’s recovery, coupled, admittedly, with a raised eyebrow and roll of the eyes at the whole string of indignities that had to accompany such a circumstance, we are also free to speculate as to who among us would pay the greatest “public relations” price for such notoriety
So, Pete Rose thinks playoff games are more important than head injuries. That was basically what Rose said on Thursday when he criticized Blue Jays’ third baseman Josh Donaldson for leaving Game 1 of the ALDS to deal with a head injury

Squashing sorority stereotypes Do the words sorority , and Greek system, conjure up negative images in your mind? I’ll admit, I never would have joined a sorority had my sister, Heidi, not joined one first. WASHINGTON — Robert McDonald, the secretary of veterans affairs, wrongly claimed in a videotaped comment earlier this year that he served in special operations forces, the most elite units in the armed forces, when his military service of five years was spent almost entirely with the 82nd Airborne Division during the late 1970s. Letizia Battaglia, an important Sicilian photographer from Palermo, Italy, took a series of shots of legendary Italian film director Pier Paolo Pasolini at a debate about art and free speech, creating a portrait from which –- through the man’s gestures and expressions –- all his overwhelming strength of character and personal charisma shine through. Italians consider Pasolini a unique intellectual, a writer and director who was among the greatest of his age. But back then Battaglia was still too young to understand the richness of her work, and the importance of the photographic document she’d created
